Lunar eclipse

There is no wonder for any of us to talk about solar eclipse. It is a phenomenon common for every one of us and I bet every one of us saw it at least once in his or her life. Though, there is also such phenomenon as lunar eclipse. And the lunar eclipse is peculiar phenomenon a few people have seen. Though, it is more frequent than solar eclipse.

According to scientists the lunar eclipse is a peculiar phenomenon that occurs at least twice a year during full moon. It is common that solar eclipse occurs once a several years. The eclipse is a phenomenon when one celestial body is shaded by another one. It may be a shade of one celestial bode that penetrates the light of another to reach the Earth, or it is the celestial body itself that shields another.

As for the lunar eclipse – it is an immersing of Moon into the cones-shade of Earth. Depending on the part of cones-shade the Moon crosses people distinguish three kinds of lunar eclipse: total eclipse, partial eclipse and half-shaded eclipse. Was the trajectory of Moon common with the trajectory of Earth towards Sun – we would see the lunar eclipse every time when it is a full moon.

The lunar eclipse is visible for everyone. One can watch the lunar eclipse at any point of out Earth, at any place where the Moon is above the horizon line. The lunar eclipse usually lasts for a couple of ours and it occurs only when it is a full moon. There is no way for lunar eclipse to occur during other phases of the Moon.
